Small shrub less than 6-10 m tall

2-6 cm, evergreen, oboval, margin wavy more than toothed, light dull green and glabrous above, hairy beneath but becoming glabrous when older, with petiole 3- 7 mm;

acorn 2-2.5 cm, enclosed in warty cup, maturing in 1 year; cotyledons sometimes connate;
