pistillate in October, on 2-3 cm long inflorescences;

acorn oblong 4 cm long, 2-3 cm wide; glabrous; long-stalked cupule 2-3 cm in diameter, with 6-8 pale brown pubescent concentric rings, enclosing 1/3 or 1/2 of nut; scar round ; stylopodium persistent; maturing in 1 year (fruit in November-December of the year after anthesis that occurs in October);
