10-20 m x 3-6 ; stiff, leathery; lanceolate to narrowly elliptic; 3-4 times longer than wide; apex acuminate to attenuate, remotely aristate; base cuneate, attenuatae or narrowly rounded, seldom cordate; margin entire; adaxially lustrous, hairless or with some stellate hairs at base of midrib; axil tufts abaxially; 13-17 vein pairs impressed adaxially; petiole 0.5-1 cm long, becoming hairless;

Fruits

acorn more than 3 cm long, 2-2.5 cm wide, broadly ovoid; brown, silky pubescent at first, becoming glabrous; cup shallow, enclosing only base of nut ; maturing in 2 years;
