6-10 x 2.5-4 cm; oblong to obovate; leathery; apex caudate; base broadly cuneate or subrounded and slightly oblique; hairless on both surfaces (sometimes silky hairs on young leaves); margin serrate near apical half; midvein and secondary veins prominent abaxially, flat or slightly impressed adaxially; 8-11 vein pairs; tertiary veins slender, evident beneath; petiole hairless, 1.5-3 cm long;

April-May; 3 styles; pistillate inflorescence 2-3 cm long, with 1 or 2 cups;
Fruits
acorn ovoid to cylindrical, 1.5-2.5 cm long, 1-1.8 cm in diameter, seldom hairy; apex rounded; enclosed 1/2 by sessile, campanulate cup; cup 1.4-1.8 cm long, 1.5-2 cm in diameter, thin (1 mm), velutinous outside, tomentose inside, with 7-8 concentric rings (basal ones divergent from cupule wall, apical ones dentate) ; maturing in 2 years in October-November;
