12-21 x 5-9 cm; oblong to oval-elliptic; leathery, thick; apex acute; base rounded or broadly cuneate; margin slightly toothed near apex; shiny green above; whitish, pilose beneath, above all at vein axils; midrib impressed above; 15-18 vein pairs; tertiary veins evident beneath; petiole 2.5-3.5 cm long, tomentose at first;

acorn flattened, 2 cm long, 3-4 cm wide; pale orangish tomentose inside and outside; mucronate, depressed at apex; almost all enclosed by cup; cup thin (1.5 mm), tomentose, with 9-10 concentric rings with margin dentate; scar convexe, very broad;

not hardy; broad-leaved evergreen mountain forests;
