Additional Information

– Sub-genus Quercus, Section Quercus, Series Stellatae; – A. Camus n° 274; – Related to Q.stellata , of which it differs in having slender twigs, smaller and thinner leaves, smaller and red brown buds; – One should not confuse Q.ashei Sterret with Q.x ashei Trel. that is a hybrid between Q.laevis and Q.incana (and therefore is not a “white oak”, as it is in Sub-genus Quercus, section Lobatae).
